Role Overview: Biocuration Intern

Responsibilities

As a Biocuration Intern, you will:

1. Curate Database from Biorepository, Comprehensive Databases .
2. Perform literature reviews to gather evidence supporting gene-disease associations.
3. Update and maintain internal variant databases with high-quality data.
4. Collaborate with bioinformatics teams to validate and interpret findings.
5. Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations based on curated data.
6. Stay updated on the latest developments in genomic databases and biocuration tools.

Qualifications and Skills Required

Educational Requirements

• Pursuing or completed a degree in:
  • Bioinformatics
  • Biotechnology
  • Genomics
  • Molecular Biology
  • Any other Life Science field
• Acceptable Degrees: BTech, MSc, or MTech

Essential Skills

• Familiarity with genomic databases such as ClinVar, dbSNP, OMIM, and HGMD.
• Basic knowledge of NGS data analysis and variant interpretation.
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities.
