Job Role: Patient Safety Associate

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in pharmacovigilance and patient safety projects, including handling adverse event reporting and risk management.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Pharmacovigilance Practices (GVP), regulatory standards, and client protocols.
  • Process and evaluate adverse event and product complaint reports from various sources.
  • Maintain accurate GxP database records and prepare safety reports.
  • Conduct follow-ups on adverse event cases and ensure timely regulatory submissions.
  • Participate in internal and external audits related to pharmacovigilance.
  • Train and mentor junior team members.
  • Provide after-hours safety-related telephone services when required.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Health Sciences, Pharmacy (B Pharm/M.Pharm), Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Microbiology, or a related field.
    • Pharmacy: B Pharm, M.Pharm, Pharm.D
    • Life Sciences: BSc., MSc. in Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology
    • Medical Sciences: MBBS, BDS, Nursing

Experience:

  • Minimum 12 months of experience in a drug safety/pharmacovigilance role.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for adverse event reporting in Australia and New Zealand.
  • Understanding of EU and APAC pharmacovigilance regulations.
  • Hands-on experience with safety databases and SOP writing.
