Job Role: Patient Safety Associate
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in pharmacovigilance and patient safety projects, including handling adverse event reporting and risk management.
- Ensure compliance with Good Pharmacovigilance Practices (GVP), regulatory standards, and client protocols.
- Process and evaluate adverse event and product complaint reports from various sources.
- Maintain accurate GxP database records and prepare safety reports.
- Conduct follow-ups on adverse event cases and ensure timely regulatory submissions.
- Participate in internal and external audits related to pharmacovigilance.
- Train and mentor junior team members.
- Provide after-hours safety-related telephone services when required.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Health Sciences, Pharmacy (B Pharm/M.Pharm), Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Microbiology, or a related field.
- Pharmacy: B Pharm, M.Pharm, Pharm.D
- Life Sciences: BSc., MSc. in Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology
- Medical Sciences: MBBS, BDS, Nursing
Experience:
- Minimum 12 months of experience in a drug safety/pharmacovigilance role.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for adverse event reporting in Australia and New Zealand.
- Understanding of EU and APAC pharmacovigilance regulations.
- Hands-on experience with safety databases and SOP writing.
