Job Role & Responsibilities
Position: Sr Executive / Asst Manager – R&D-mAbs (Upstream-Media Optimization or MSAT)

As part of the monoclonal antibody (mAbs) R&D team, you will be responsible for upstream process development, optimization, and scale-up using mammalian expression systems (CHO-based). Your work will directly support the development and manufacturing of biosimilars and therapeutic proteins under regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct upstream unit operations using CHO-based mammalian expression systems for mAb process media optimization across multiple products.
- Handle stainless steel (SS) and single-use bioreactors (SUB) up to 2000L scale.
- Execute upstream manufacturing processes in a cGMP-compliant facility.
- Supervise media preparation, cell culture, and harvest operations.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, Quality Systems, and Regulatory Guidelines.
- Perform equipment qualification, validation, and commissioning.
- Lead process deviation investigations, risk assessments, and change management.
- Collaborate with the PPIC team for raw material and consumables planning.
- Maintain accurate and on-line documentation throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.
- Drive qualification and validation activities for upstream/downstream systems.
- Engage cross-functionally with QA, QC, and Engineering teams for smooth execution.
This role demands a mix of technical expertise, process ownership, and leadership in biologics R&D.
Eligibility / Qualifications
Educational Qualification:
B.Tech or M.Tech (Biotechnology, Bioprocess Engineering),
B.Sc or M.Sc (Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, or related fields).
Experience:
2 to 7 years of hands-on experience in upstream process development, media optimization, or MSAT (Manufacturing Science and Technology) in biologics or mAbs.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong understanding of CHO-based expression systems.
- Practical experience with bioreactor operations (SS/SUB up to 2000L).
- Knowledge of cGMP and quality compliance documentation.
- Familiarity with risk management, deviation handling, and process validation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
