The roles focus on development, scale‑up and technology transfer of complex sterile and injectable dosage forms. Job Role & Responsibilities

Caplin Point is hiring multiple formulation scientists across two experience bands. The roles require technical ownership of development projects from concept to submission and transfer.

What you will do

• Lead formulation design and development for complex sterile injectables and ophthalmic products.
• Apply Quality by Design (QbD) principles to experimental planning and risk‑based development.
• Design and execute DOE (Design of Experiments) to optimize formulations and processes.
• Plan and execute scale‑up, pilot and submission batches; coordinate tech transfer to manufacturing.
• Prepare, review and approve development reports, scale‑up reports, stability protocols and submission documents.
• Troubleshoot formulation and process issues during development and scale‑up phases.
• Coordinate with analytical, QA, production, and regulatory teams to align on specifications and submission requirements.
• Ensure all activities follow current FDA guidelines, GMP and applicable regulatory frameworks.
• Mentor junior scientists and contribute to continuous improvement of lab practices and documentation.

Key technical expectations

• Strong hands‑on experience with sterile filling, lyophilization (lyo/non‑lyo), aseptic processing and vial/ampoule technologies.
• Experience with ophthalmic formulation techniques, preservative systems, sterilization validation and ophthalmic regulatory expectations preferred.
• Proven track record in technology transfer, with clear examples of successful plant transfers and submission support.
• Competence in analytical method support for stability and release testing; familiarity with HPLC, GC, UV, KF as applicable.

Eligibility / Qualifications

Minimum qualification: M.Pharm (Pharmaceutics).
Positions and experience:

• Formulation R&D (Injectables & Ophthalmics): 2–5 years — 4 vacancies
• Formulation R&D (Senior): 6–10 years — 3 vacancies

Required skills:

• Demonstrable experience in injectable/sterile dosage form development.
• Sound understanding of QbD, risk management and DOE approaches.
• Technology transfer experience and submission batch handling.
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
• Ability to collaborate across functions and manage project timelines.

Preferred: Experience with oncology injectables, ophthalmic sterile platforms, and regulatory submissions to stringent authorities (FDA/EMA) will be given preference.
