Job Role & Responsibilities
Selected candidates will work as part of Vee Healthtek’s medical coding and quality teams, handling diverse clinical records and ensuring accurate code assignment in compliance with international coding standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing medical records and assigning accurate ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT codes
- Handling specialty-specific coding such as IP DRG, Radiology, E/M, Surgery, IVR, and Denials
- Ensuring coding accuracy, compliance, and adherence to payer and regulatory guidelines
- Supporting quality audits and addressing coding queries or denials
- Maintaining productivity and quality benchmarks as defined by the organization
- Collaborating with QA and GC teams to improve coding outcomes
- Staying updated with coding guideline changes and industry best practices
Eligibility / Qualifications
Required Education & Certification
- Mandatory certification: CPC, CCS, CIC, COC or equivalent
Relevant courses include:
BSc Life Sciences, BSc Nursing, BSc Allied Health Sciences, BPharm, MPharm, MSc Medical Coding, Diploma in Medical Coding, Health Information Management, Paramedical Courses
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year to maximum 7 years of relevant medical coding experience
- Strong hands-on experience in IP DRG or Radiology coding preferred for bonus eligibility
Skill Requirements
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and coding guidelines
- Ability to handle complex inpatient and outpatient charts
- High attention to detail and coding accuracy
- Good communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work in a production-driven healthcare environment
