Job Role & Responsibilities
Selected candidates will work as Medical Coders or Senior Medical Coders within the HCC and Home Health Coding domain.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing outpatient, inpatient, and home health medical records for accurate risk adjustment coding
- Assigning ICD-10-CM codes in compliance with HCC and CMS guidelines
- Handling HCC to HHC (Home Health Coding) transitions and documentation reviews
- Ensuring coding accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance
- Identifying documentation gaps and supporting coding quality improvement
- Working closely with QA teams to meet productivity and quality benchmarks
- Staying updated with annual ICD-10-CM, CMS-HCC, and payer-specific guideline changes
These roles directly support accurate risk adjustment, reimbursement optimization, and compliance for healthcare providers.
Eligibility / Qualifications
Educational & Certification Requirements
- Medical coding certification preferred but not mandatory
- Certified and non-certified medical coders are eligible to apply
Relevant courses include: BSc Life Sciences, BSc Nursing, BSc Allied Health Sciences, BPharm, MPharm, Diploma in Medical Coding, Health Information Management, Paramedical Courses
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in medical coding
- Prior exposure to HCC or Home Health Coding is highly preferred
Skill Requirements
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM coding guidelines
- Understanding of HCC risk adjustment and CMS documentation standards
- Ability to analyze medical records and physician documentation
