5‑Day Hands‑on Training on Molecular Docking and Molecular Dynamics
A specialized 5‑day hands‑on training programme on Molecular Docking and Molecular Dynamics is being organized by the Gujarat Biotechnology Research Centre (GBRC), Department of Science & Technology, Government of Gujarat. The programme will be conducted from 30 March to 3 April 2026 at the GBRC campus in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
This intensive biotechnology and bioinformatics training programme is funded by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. The workshop is designed for PhD scholars, researchers, biotechnology students, academicians, and industry professionals who want to gain practical experience in computational drug discovery, molecular modelling, and protein‑ligand interaction analysis.
The programme focuses on advanced computational biology tools such as AutoDock Vina and GROMACS and includes practical sessions covering protein structure preparation, molecular docking workflows, and molecular dynamics simulations used in modern drug discovery and pharmaceutical research.
Only 25 seats are available, and registration is completely free. Selected participants will be informed via email after the application review process.
Company / Institution Overview
The Gujarat Biotechnology Research Centre (GBRC) is a premier biotechnology research institute operating under the Department of Science & Technology, Government of Gujarat. The centre focuses on cutting‑edge research in genomics, bioinformatics, molecular biology, proteomics, and translational biotechnology.
GBRC works closely with academic institutions, industry partners, and national research bodies to promote innovation in biotechnology and life sciences. The institute is actively involved in scientific capacity building through training programmes, research fellowships, and collaborative projects.
This training programme is conducted under the BTISNET initiative, supported by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, which aims to strengthen bioinformatics infrastructure and training across the country.
Through such workshops, GBRC helps researchers and students gain exposure to modern computational drug discovery techniques, protein modelling approaches, and molecular simulation methods widely used in pharmaceutical research and biotechnology industries.
