Key Responsibilities
- Translate patient medical documents into standardized medical codes.
- Account for coding and abstracting of patient encounters including diagnoses, procedures, and complications.
- Analyze medical records and identify documentation deficiencies.
- Audit clinical documentation to ensure compliance and reimbursement eligibility.
- Provide expert consultation to other coding staff.
- Research discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
Mandatory Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical coding conventions.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to analyze and identify quality of care and billing issues.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Desired Skills
- Certified Coder (preferred)
