Job Role & Responsibilities
As a Regulatory Affairs Specialist – Nutrition, you will lead end-to-end regulatory compliance for the Foods portfolio while partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure product approvals align with Indian and global regulations.
Regulatory Strategy & Compliance
- Lead regulatory compliance activities in accordance with FSSAI regulations, Legal Metrology Act, State FDA requirements, and other applicable food safety standards.
- Monitor, interpret, and communicate regulatory updates including FSSAI notifications, labelling requirements, nutrition claims, fortification standards, and food safety amendments.
- Support regulatory strategy development for new product launches, reformulations, and innovation projects to ensure faster market access with minimal compliance risk.
- Review and approve packaging artworks and label declarations for statutory compliance.
- Prepare and manage FSSAI license documentation, including Statement of Ingredients (SOI) drafting and regulatory query responses.
- Ensure raw material regulatory compliance for both existing and newly introduced ingredients.
- Support implementation of digital compliance tools and regulatory tracking systems.
Nutrition & Claims Management
- Validate and substantiate nutrition, health, and functional claims in accordance with Indian food laws and international regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with R&D and Marketing teams to ensure compliant consumer communication.
- Provide regulatory input for clean label initiatives, food fortification programs, and responsible nutrition strategies.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the primary liaison for licensing coordination with state authorities and external consultants.
- Partner with R&D, Quality Assurance, Legal, Procurement, and Supply Chain to enable compliant business expansion.
- Coordinate FSSAI licensing processes and documentation requirements across departments.
Risk Management & Training
- Identify regulatory risks across the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies.
- Conduct internal regulatory awareness and compliance training sessions.
- Maintain accurate documentation and regulatory audit readiness.

Experience
- 2–7 years of hands-on experience in Regulatory Affairs within the FMCG or food industry.
