Job Role & Responsibilities
As a Research Associate I, you will provide hands-on support in the Analytical R&D laboratory, focusing on Extractable and Leachable (E&L) testing for medical devices. Your responsibilities include:
- Execute method development, validation, and qualification experiments.
- Conduct experiments supporting new product development and sustaining projects.
- Operate advanced analytical instruments such as LCMS 3Q, LCMS-QTOF, GCMS, GCMS-QTOF, ICPMS, UPLC, IC.
- Perform sample preparation and other laboratory activities per established SOPs.
- Maintain calibration, operation, and preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Apply analytical theory and technical knowledge to improve methods, troubleshoot, and propose solutions.
- Recommend new techniques to enhance laboratory productivity.
- Document work according to Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and ALCOA plus principles.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (ICH, ISO, Data Integrity) and Vantive’s Quality Manual, SOPs, and EHS&S guidelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve research goals efficiently.
- Participate in corporate social responsibility initiatives and embody organizational values.
Eligibility / Qualifications
- Education: Graduate/Postgraduate/PhD in Pharmacy, Chemistry, or related fields (M.Pharm, MSc, PhD).
- Experience: 3–7 years of relevant experience in E&L studies and analytical R&D.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with hyphenated chromatographic techniques: GCMS, GC-QTOF, LCMS, LCMS-QTOF, ICPMS.
- Understanding of complex sample matrices, separation methodologies, and potential interferences.
- Expertise in spectrometric and spectroscopic techniques.
- Hands-on laboratory experience with balances, pH meters, ovens, centrifuges, sonicators, and shakers.
- Knowledge of wet chemistry methods including pipetting, serial dilutions, filtrations, and extractions.
- Familiarity with container-closure systems, leachables, and large volume parenteral formulations.
- Soft Skills:
- Analytical thinking, high learning agility, adaptability, and innovation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
- Strong presentation skills, teamwork, and collaboration.
- Commitment to organizational priorities and project deadlines.
