Job Role & Responsibilities

Position: Literature Search Specialist

Department: Pharmacovigilance & Regulatory Affairs

Core Responsibilities:

  • Conduct systematic literature searches using databases such as PubMed, Embase, and Google Scholar to identify safety-related information.
  • Screen and review scientific publications relevant to drug safety, signal detection, aggregate reporting, and risk management.
  • Prepare literature review reports and summarize findings supporting PSURs, PBRERs, and RMPs.
  • Collaborate with pharmacovigilance, regulatory writing, and medical affairs teams to ensure timely and compliant reporting.
  • Maintain and update the literature database in accordance with company SOPs, ICH-GVP Module IX, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and traceability in all documentation activities.

Key Deliverables:

  • Evidence-based safety summaries for global submissions.
  • Regular monitoring and reporting of potential safety signals.
  • Updated literature records supporting regulatory deliverables.

Eligibility / Qualifications

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, or related disciplines.

Experience Required:

  • 1–4 years of hands-on experience in literature searching, drug safety, pharmacovigilance operations, or scientific research.

Technical Competencies:

  • Proficiency in using scientific databases (PubMed, Embase, Google Scholar).
  • Experience with reference management tools such as EndNote or Mendeley.
  • Understanding of pharmacovigilance processes, aggregate report writing, and signal detection.
  • Strong analytical and critical appraisal skills.
