Job Role & Responsibilities

Designation: Executive / Sr. Executive – HCC Medical Coding

Department: Healthcare Coding (HCC)
Experience: Minimum 1 Year
Qualification: Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing, or Allied Health background preferred
Certification: Optional (CPC / CCS / COC / CRC preferred but not mandatory)

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform HCC (Hierarchical Condition Category) medical coding based on patient medical records.
• Accurately interpret medical documentation, ICD-10 codes, and patient history to ensure data quality.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer-specific coding guidelines.
• Conduct chart reviews, code validations, and audit reconciliations to ensure coding accuracy.
• Participate in peer reviews, QA feedback sessions, and coding quality improvement programs.
• Collaborate with clinical documentation teams and coding auditors for case clarification.
• Meet daily productivity and quality benchmarks within set timelines.

Eligibility / Qualifications

Educational Background:

• B.Sc (Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Nursing)
• B.Pharm / M.Pharm
• BPT / MLT / BDS / BHMS / Allied Health Sciences

Preferred Courses: Medical Coding, ICD-10, CPT, HCC Risk Adjustment, Healthcare Analytics, HIPAA Compliance, CDI.

Experience Required: Minimum 1+ years of experience in HCC medical coding (Certified or Non-Certified Coders can apply).

Preferred Certifications: CPC, CRC, CCS, or COC from AAPC / AHIMA (optional but advantageous).

Key Skills:

• In-depth understanding of ICD-10-CM and risk adjustment models.
• Proficiency in EHR systems and medical record review tools.
• Strong analytical and clinical interpretation skills.
• Excellent communication and accuracy in coding documentation.
