Job Role & Responsibilities
As an Associate I – Patient Safety & Experience (Non-MD), you will play a crucial role in ensuring patient safety through effective vigilance, compliance, and risk management of Alcon’s medical devices and healthcare products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, document, and report safety data for Alcon’s medical devices in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Support the vigilance team in pre- and post-marketing safety activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to manage and mitigate product safety risks.
- Analyze and interpret adverse event data to ensure compliance with national and international safety guidelines.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global medical device regulations and standards.
- Assist in compiling safety reports and product evaluations for audits and inspections.
- Provide insights to enhance the patient experience and ensure continuous safety improvements.
Core Skills Required:
- Strong communication, listening, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Understanding of medical device vigilance systems, safety databases, and regulatory frameworks (FDA, EMA, ISO 13485, MDR, etc.).
- Proficiency in MS Office and documentation practices.
- Sound knowledge of Good Pharmacovigilance Practices (GVP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
Eligibility / Qualifications
Required Qualification:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in one of the following disciplines:
- Pharmacy (B.Pharm, M.Pharm)
- Life Sciences (Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Zoology)
- Nursing, Biomedical Engineering, or Health Sciences
Preferred Experience:
- 0–3 years of experience in pharmacovigilance, medical device safety, or clinical research domains.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and device safety processes preferred.
Soft Skills:
- Analytical thinking and a structured approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to manage timelines and communicate effectively across teams.
