Job Role & Responsibilities
As a Certified Medical Coder (Executive/Sr. Executive), you will be responsible for:
- Assigning accurate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for diagnoses and procedures.
- Ensuring coding compliance with AAPC/AHIMA standards and hospital policies.
- Reviewing medical records from the Emergency Department (ED) to maintain data integrity.
- Collaborating with billing, auditing, and clinical teams to resolve coding queries.
- Maintaining detailed documentation for coding audits and reporting.
- Supporting process improvement initiatives for coding efficiency and accuracy.
Eligibility / Qualifications
- Experience: 2 to 9 years in medical coding.
- Certification: AAPC or AHIMA (mandatory).
- Education: Graduate in any life sciences or healthcare-related field.
- Skills Required:
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and medical terminology.
- Attention to detail and ability to handle high-volume coding tasks.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
