Job Role & Responsibilities

Position: Analyst – CDI (IPDRG)
Locations: Hyderabad, Telangana and Trichy, Tamil Nadu
Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in IPDRG or IPDRG CDI Analyst roles (up to 10 years considered)
Qualification: Any graduate; Coding certification mandatory (e.g., CPC, CCS, CCS-P, COC, or equivalent)

Role Overview:
As an IPDRG CDI Analyst, you will review inpatient records, validate diagnosis and procedure coding against clinical documentation, identify opportunities for documentation improvement, and collaborate with clinicians to ensure accurate, compliant IPDRG assignments that reflect patient complexity and resource use.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review inpatient medical records to assign accurate IPDRG codes and ensure consistency with ICD and DRG classification rules.
  • Perform Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) interventions — query providers, clarify diagnoses, and obtain supporting documentation where necessary.
  • Maintain coding accuracy and productivity benchmarks while ensuring compliance with payer and regulatory guidelines.
  • Work with clinical and coding teams to resolve documentation gaps, denials, and coding discrepancies.
  • Participate in coding audits, quality reviews, and feedback loops to improve documentation practices.
  • Keep up-to-date with coding guideline updates, payer rules, and IPDRG mapping nuances.
  • Provide mentoring to junior coders and support process improvements.

Performance Metrics: Typical KPIs include coding accuracy, query acceptance rate, productivity (charts/day), denial reduction contribution, and turnaround time.


Eligibility / Qualifications

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in IPDRG coding or as an IPDRG CDI Analyst.
  • Coding certification (CPC, CCS, CCS-P, COC, or equivalent) is required.
