M.Pharm Nasal FARD – Aurobindo R&D Centre

M.Pharm / M.Sc for Nasal FARD role at Aurobindo R&D Centre. 1 vacancy. Apply with 5–8 years’ analytical method development experience.

Aurobindo R&D Centre is seeking a motivated and technically strong M.Pharm / M.Sc professional to join its Nasal – FARD (Formulation & Respiratory Drug Delivery) team. If you have 5–8 years of hands‑on experience in analytical method development, aerosol characterization (Spraytec, SprayView, Anderson Cascade Impactor), and independent troubleshooting for nasal/spatial drug delivery products, this role offers an opportunity to work on cutting‑edge inhalation and nasal delivery programs within a major global formulation research hub.

Company Overview

Aurobindo Pharma is a leading global pharmaceutical company with an extensive R&D footprint focused on formulation development, analytical sciences, and regulatory submissions. The R&D Centre supports product innovation across oral, topical, nasal, and inhalation dosage forms, with teams that collaborate across formulation, analytical, clinical, and regulatory functions. Working here gives you exposure to regulated market requirements, well‑defined development pathways, and opportunities to contribute directly to patient‑centric respiratory products.

The Nasal – FARD group works on formulation design, analytical characterization, and regulatory documentation for nasal sprays, dry‑powder inhalers, and combination devices. The team emphasizes data integrity, GLP/GMP alignment, and robust method transfer to development and manufacturing partners.

Job Role & Responsibilities

As a Nasal – FARD (Analytical / Formulation) Specialist, you will lead analytical method development and characterization for nasal spray and inhalation products. You will work closely with formulation scientists, device engineers, and quality/regulatory teams to ensure that analytical methods are fit‑for‑purpose and that product performance meets clinical and regulatory expectations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead analytical method development and method validation for assay, impurity, content uniformity, droplet size distribution, spray pattern, plume geometry, and aerodynamic particle size distribution (APSD).
  • Operate and maintain aerosol and spray characterization instruments including Spraytec, SprayView, and Anderson Cascade Impactor (ACI); design experiments and interpret complex datasets.
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation and analytical anomalies independently; propose corrective actions and file technical reports and investigation documents.
  • Draft and review analytical protocols, validation reports, SOPs, and regulatory deliverables with technical clarity and adherence to quality standards.
  • Support device/formulation interaction studies, in‑vitro performance testing, and bridging studies for method transfer to pilot and commercial manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Formulation, Device, QA, Regulatory Affairs) to support stability studies, comparability assessments, and regulatory submissions.
  • Ensure proper maintenance, calibration, and qualification of analytical instruments, as well as compliance with data integrity principles (ALCOA+) and relevant regulations (e.g., 21 CFR Part 11 where applicable).
  • Mentor junior analysts and support hands‑on training for aerosol testing techniques and best laboratory practices.

Technical Deliverables:

  • Method development protocols & validation reports
  • APSD and spray characterization reports with statistical analysis
  • Investigation reports for OOS/OOT and instrument anomalies
  • Technical inputs for regulatory dossiers (CTD modules related to analytical methods)

Eligibility / Qualifications

Minimum Educational Qualification:

  • M.Pharm (Preferred: Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Analysis) or M.Sc (Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Life Sciences) with demonstrable experience in inhalation/nasal analytics.

Experience Required:

  • 5–8 years of relevant industrial experience in analytical method development, aerosol characterization, or formulation support for nasal/inhalation products — ideally within CROs, pharma R&D, or device‑integrated formulation teams.

Essential Skills & Competencies:

  • Hands‑on experience with Spraytec, SprayView, and Anderson Cascade Impactor (or equivalent cascade impaction systems) for APSD and spray performance testing.
  • Strong background in HPLC/UPLC method development, assay and impurity analysis, and validation (ICH Q2(R1)).
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills for analytical instruments and experimental setups.
  • Good statistical understanding for data analysis and method robustness evaluation.
  • Knowledge of device/formulation interaction principles for nasal sprays and inhalation products.
  • Excellent technical writing skills for protocols, method reports, and regulatory documentation.
  • Commitment to data integrity (ALCOA+), GLP/GMP practices, and laboratory safety.

Desirable:

  • Experience with spray pattern/plume geometry imaging, laser diffraction for droplet sizing, and software tools used with these instruments.
  • Prior exposure to regulatory submissions or support for inhalation/nasal drug product approvals.
  • Familiarity with environmental control for aerosol testing and sample handling practices.

Relevant Courses (comma‑separated):
M.Pharm (Pharmaceutics), M.Pharm (Pharmaceutical Analysis), M.Sc Analytical Chemistry, M.Sc Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Certificate in Inhalation Drug Delivery, Diploma in Aerosol Science, Course in GLP & GMP Compliance, Training in Anderson Cascade Impactor operation
