Job Role & Responsibilities
Position: QC Microbiologist
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform microbial limit tests, sterility testing, and bacterial endotoxin testing (BET).
- Conduct environmental monitoring for cleanrooms, controlled areas, and sterile processing zones.
- Perform microbial assays and support QC activities for injectable and biopharma products.
- Handle culture maintenance, media preparation, incubation, colony counting, and interpretation of results.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacopeial standards (IP, BP, USP, EP) while conducting microbial analysis.
- Maintain accurate documentation, logbooks, calibration records, and electronic data entries in GMP-compliant systems.
- Support investigations related to deviations, OOS/OOT, and contamination events.
- Work closely with manufacturing, QA, and R&D teams to ensure quality standards and technical accuracy.
This role demands technical precision, microbiology expertise, and strong compliance awareness.
Eligibility / Qualifications
- Qualification: B.Sc Microbiology, M.Sc Microbiology, B.Sc Biotechnology, M.Sc Biotechnology.
- Experience: 4 to 6 years of experience in microbiology, sterile testing, or downstream processing in the biopharma sector.
- Technical Knowledge: Sterility testing, BET, environmental monitoring, aseptic techniques, microbial assays, and familiarity with GMP.
- Soft Skills: Documentation accuracy, teamwork, communication, and analytical mindset.
