Job Role & Responsibilities
The Trainee Medical Coder role focuses on learning and applying medical coding principles for US healthcare documentation under supervised training programs.
Trainee Medical Coder – ED / Home Health
Key Responsibilities
- Learn and apply medical coding guidelines for Emergency Department (ED) or Home Health services
- Assign accurate medical codes using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS standards
- Review clinical documentation to ensure coding accuracy and compliance
- Understand US healthcare billing workflows and revenue cycle processes
- Maintain coding quality standards and productivity benchmarks
- Adhere to HIPAA and data confidentiality requirements
- Participate in continuous assessments during the training period
Department allocation (ED or Home Health) will be based on interview performance.
Eligibility / Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Candidates must possess a degree in pharmacy, life sciences, or paramedical disciplines.
Relevant Courses (comma-separated): B.Pharmacy, M.Pharmacy, Pharm.D, B.Sc Life Sciences, B.Sc Paramedical, Allied Health Sciences
Skill Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Human Anatomy and Physiology
- Understanding of medical terminology
