Job Role & Responsibilities

Research Associate – R&D (API & Intermediates)

Selected candidates will be part of the Process Research and Development team and will contribute directly to the development and optimization of synthetic routes for APIs and intermediates.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop scalable and cost-effective synthetic routes for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients and advanced intermediates
• Optimize chemical reactions to improve yield, purity, and impurity control
• Troubleshoot process deviations and resolve scale-up challenges during development
• Maintain detailed experimental records, laboratory notebooks, and development reports
• Coordinate closely with Analytical R&D teams for method development, validation, and impurity profiling
• Support scale-up, pilot batch execution, and technology transfer to manufacturing units
• Ensure compliance with cGMP, safety guidelines, and internal SOPs

This role provides significant exposure to end-to-end API development, making it highly valuable for professionals aiming to grow in pharmaceutical R&D and process chemistry careers.

Eligibility / Qualifications

Educational Qualification

M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry

Relevant courses include: Organic Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry

Experience Requirement

• Minimum 2 years to maximum 10 years of experience in Process Development R&D
• Mandatory experience in API and intermediates research within the pharmaceutical industry
• Strong understanding of reaction optimization, impurity control, and scale-up chemistry

Candidates with prior exposure to regulated market projects and technology transfer activities will be given preference.
