Job Role & Responsibilities

As an Executive – Patent (IPR), you will be responsible for managing and supporting intellectual property activities related to pharmaceutical formulations and intermediates for global markets. This role requires strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of formulation science, and hands-on experience in patent research and analysis.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting detailed literature searches related to pharmaceutical formulations and drug delivery systems
• Preparing comprehensive IP landscape reports to support formulation and development strategies
• Performing Freedom to Operate (FTO) analysis for formulations and intermediates
• Carrying out patent infringement analysis and providing IP clearance opinions to formulation and development teams
• Assessing preliminary IP status for multiple countries of commercial interest
• Tracking country-wise patent litigation and monitoring legal developments impacting products
• Conducting patentability analysis for new formulations and technologies
• Drafting patent applications and supporting filing activities
• Updating internal IP databases, reports, and documentation on a regular basis
• Coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate IP inputs

This position directly contributes to safeguarding product pipelines, reducing IP risks, and enabling successful global launches.

Eligibility / Qualifications

Educational Requirements

• M.Pharm in Medicinal Chemistry or Pharmaceutics

Relevant courses include:
M.Pharm (Medicinal Chemistry), M.Pharm (Pharmaceutics), Pharmaceutical Sciences, Drug Delivery Systems, Industrial Pharmacy

Experience Requirements

• 2 to 6 years of hands-on experience in pharmaceutical patents or intellectual property roles
• Prior exposure to formulation-related patent work is strongly preferred

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical formulations and development processes
• Experience in patent searches, patent analytics, and IP landscaping
• Knowledge of FTO analysis and patent infringement assessment
