Job Role & Responsibilities
As a Scientist I in the Cell Biology and Antibody Development team, you will work on developing high-quality antibodies and supporting immunoassay-based applications.
- Design and develop recombinant antibodies using molecular and protein biology techniques
- Perform experimental planning, execution, and documentation of research activities
- Work on antibody purification, conjugation, and validation for immunoassays
- Conduct ELISA and other immunoassay techniques for performance evaluation
- Handle mammalian cell culture, including primary cells and cancer cell lines
- Perform cell isolation techniques such as PBMC and splenocyte extraction
- Apply molecular biology workflows including cloning, PCR, ligation, and plasmid preparation
- Analyze and present experimental data using tools like GraphPad Prism and MS Office
- Conduct literature reviews to stay updated with antibody development technologies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to product development goals
This role contributes directly to research innovation, diagnostic development, and advancement of therapeutic tools used in healthcare and pharmaceutical industries.
Eligibility / Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Master’s degree (MSc) or equivalent in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Immunology, Biochemistry, or Molecular Biology
- OR PhD (submitted within last 1 year) in relevant life sciences field
- 0–4 years of experience in research or laboratory-based roles
Relevant courses include: MSc Biotechnology, MSc Microbiology, MSc Biochemistry, MSc Immunology, MSc Molecular Biology, M.Pharmacy, PhD Life Sciences
Key skills required:
- Strong knowledge of immunology and antibody development
- Experience with flow cytometry and cell sorting (preferred)
- Hands-on experience in ELISA and immunoassays
- Knowledge of molecular biology techniques such as PCR, cloning, and sequencing
- Experience in mammalian cell culture and aseptic techniques
- Understanding of protein expression and purification
- Strong analytical, documentation, and troubleshooting skills
Location & Salary
- Location: Bangalore, Karnataka (Onsite)
- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday (Standard working hours)
- Salary: Approximately ₹6 LPA – ₹12 LPA (based on industry benchmarks for R&D scientist roles in Bangalore)
