Job Role & Responsibilities
As a Peptide Synthesis Specialist (Scientist to Deputy Manager level), you will be responsible for supporting peptide synthesis and characterization in Biocon’s R&D labs. Key responsibilities include:
- Performing peptide synthesis using solid-phase and solution-phase strategies with manual and automated synthesizers.
- Executing cleavage, isolation, purification, and modifications (C- and N-terminal modifications, peptide conjugations).
- Conducting impurity profiling, synthesis, and isolation.
- Purification of peptides and related impurities.
- Writing laboratory journals and preparing technical documents for regulatory and internal reporting.
- Carrying out analytical and spectroscopic characterization of peptides.
- Supporting peptide-derived API synthesis projects.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality results within project timelines.
Eligibility / Qualifications
- Educational Qualification: Ph.D, M.Sc, or M.Pharm in Chemistry (specializations may include Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Peptide Chemistry).
- Experience: 2–8 years in peptide synthesis within API R&D.
- Required Skills:
- Hands-on experience in solid-phase and solution-phase peptide synthesis.
- Strong knowledge of peptide conjugations, modifications, and purification.
- Experience with analytical tools for peptide characterization.
- Ability to manage peptide impurity profiling and validation processes.
