Job Role & Responsibilities
Position: Trainee Medical Coder – HCC
This entry-level role is designed for certified coders who want to build a strong foundation in Hierarchical Condition Category (HCC) coding.
Key Responsibilities
- Review clinical documentation and assign accurate HCC codes.
- Ensure compliance with CMS, AAPC, and AHIMA guidelines.
- Maintain coding accuracy and productivity targets.
- Work with team leads to resolve documentation gaps.
- Participate in training sessions, audits, and feedback meetings.
- Update coding knowledge as per regulatory changes and payer rules.
Eligibility / Qualifications
Education & Certification
- Mandatory: AAPC Certified (CPC/COC/CRC) or AHIMA Certified (CCA/CCS).
