Job Role & Responsibilities

As a Statistical Programmer at IQVIA, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing SAS programs to generate derived analysis datasets and outputs for tables, listings, and figures (TFLs).
  • Performing programming validation to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
  • Providing programming support across project teams, including creating strategies, standards, and specifications.
  • Reviewing planning documents such as Statistical Analysis Plans (SAP), Data Review Plans, and Data Presentation Plans.
  • Preparing and reviewing electronic submissions for regulatory purposes.
  • Collaborating with internal/external stakeholders, project team members, and vendors on programming standards and conventions.
  • Leading programming assignments independently with minimal supervision.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and consistency within Global Biometric and Data Sciences (GBDS) deliverables.
  • Supporting improvement initiatives and maintaining compliance with regulatory and corporate standards.

Eligibility / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Life Sciences.
  • Minimum of 3 years of industry programming experience; US military experience considered for US roles.
  • Proficiency in SAS, R, or other statistical programming languages.
  • Strong understanding of clinical data structure (CDISC standards) and relational databases.
  • Experience with upstream data processing (e.g., eDC, SDTM) and downstream outputs (e.g., ADaM, Data Definition Tables, e-submissions).
  • Familiarity with regulatory, industry, and technology standards.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical terminology, clinical tests, medical terminology, and protocol design.
  • Effective teamwork and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years clinical/statistical programming experience within pharmaceutical clinical development.
  • Knowledge of drug development processes, clinical trial methodology, and global regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with Linux operating systems and additional software packages (e.g., R).
