Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal, invites applications for the position of Project Research Scientist – I under an ICMR-sponsored research project at the Department of Pharmacy Practice, Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MCOPS). This role is suited for candidates with a strong interest in clinical research, pharmacogenomics, metabolomics, and drug safety studies, particularly in tuberculosis care.

Job Role & Responsibilities
The Project Research Scientist – I will be responsible for executing both clinical and laboratory components of the ICMR-funded research project.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit tuberculosis patients and coordinate follow-up visits.
- Conduct adverse drug reaction (ADR) monitoring and drug safety assessments.
- Collect blood samples and manage patient follow-up data.
- Perform preprocessing, labeling, and storage of biological samples.
- Extract genomic DNA from clinical samples.
- Carry out pharmacogenomic SNP analysis using real-time PCR.
- Support metabolomics research and assist in data interpretation.
- Manage research databases and perform data analysis.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary research team.
- Prepare scientific manuscripts and contribute to peer-reviewed publications.
This role directly contributes to precision medicine, patient safety, and improved treatment outcomes in tuberculosis therapy.
Eligibility / Qualifications
Required Education
Candidates must hold one of the following qualifications:
MLT, MSc, M.Pharm, PharmD, M.Tech
Preference will be given to candidates with specialization or exposure in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or Pharmacy Practice.

Experience & Skills

- Exposure to metabolomics research is desirable.
- Experience in systematic reviews and scientific writing.

Location & Salary
Job Location: Manipal, Karnataka, India
Remuneration: ₹56,000 + 10% HRA (₹61,600 per month)
