Job Role & Responsibilities
Position: Senior Executive / Assistant Manager / Manager – Intellectual Property Division
In this role, you’ll play a key part in protecting and advancing Micro Labs’ intellectual assets, particularly in API research for small peptides. Your work will contribute to ensuring freedom to operate (FTO), designing non-infringing routes, and strengthening the company’s competitive edge in global markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive literature and patent searches related to APIs and peptide molecules.
- Handle intellectual property queries and provide actionable insights to the R&D team.
- Perform FTO (Freedom to Operate) assessments to ensure product and process compliance.
- Strategize and steer the development of non-infringing synthetic routes for small peptides and KSMs (Key Starting Materials).
- Analyze and evaluate patent landscapes, infringement risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Research, Legal, and Regulatory Affairs) to support IP-driven decisions.
- Maintain and update IP databases to ensure compliance and alignment with global standards.
Eligibility / Qualifications
Educational Qualification:
- M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry, M.Sc. in Biotechnology, M.Sc. in Molecular Biology, or Ph.D. in a related discipline.
Experience Required:
- 3–7 years of experience in Pharma API IPR, preferably with exposure to small peptides.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong understanding of Indian and International Patent Laws.
- Expertise in FTO analysis, patent drafting, and prosecution.
- Hands-on experience in literature databases such as STN, SciFinder, and PatBase.
- Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.
- Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
