Role Overview: HCC Coder (Certified & Non-Certified)
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and review medical records for accurate HCC coding
- Apply ICD-10-CM codes and ensure compliance with CMS guidelines
- Work collaboratively with QA and Team Leaders to improve documentation accuracy
- Identify coding issues and report discrepancies
- Maintain productivity and quality standards
Qualifications:
- Educational Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences
- Accepted courses: BSc. in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Nursing, Zoology, Botany, MSc., B Pharm, M.Pharm, BPT, BHMS, BDS
- Certifications: CPC/CCA/CCS (preferred but not mandatory)
- Experience: 1+ years in HCC coding (mandatory)
- Software: Experience with EHRs and coding platforms preferred
Preferred Skills:
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM coding
- Familiarity with CMS-HCC risk adjustment model
- Accuracy-focused and target-driven
- Team player with excellent communication skills
