Sun Pharma is hiring for the Manager / Sr. Manager – R&D Packaging Development role at its R&D center in Baroda, Gujarat. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with a strong background in packaging design, regulatory support, and cross-functional collaboration in the pharma domain.

About the Role

The selected candidate will be responsible for leading packaging development initiatives for Exhibit batches, ANDA/NDA submissions, and ensuring packaging compliance for global regulated markets. The role demands hands-on expertise in packaging material selection, mold development, vendor liaison, and documentation aligned with international guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Characterization of RLD (Reference Listed Drug) pack samples
• Finalizing packing configurations for exhibit batch and new product launches
• Identifying and onboarding new packaging material vendors
• Mold development & validation for primary and secondary packaging
• Supporting Regulatory Affairs for ANDA/NDA filings for regulated markets
• Preparing & revising packaging specifications
• Drafting and reviewing MPC, FMEA, TA, DHF, AFMEA documents
• Executing development protocols and functional tests
• Coordinating with cross-functional teams (FDD, RA, Plant, Marketing, PMO)
• Participating in FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests) of machines
• Supporting plant teams with validation, troubleshooting, and complaint resolution
• Maintaining SOPs and packaging lab equipment calibration records

Required Qualification & Experience

• Education: Degree in Packaging Development from IIP (Indian Institute of Packaging) or equivalent
• Experience: Minimum 12 years in pharmaceutical packaging development, preferably in a regulatory-compliant environment
• Strong understanding of global packaging standards and pharmaceutical regulations
