Job Role & Responsibilities
The Officer – F&D (Sterile) will be responsible for formulation design, execution, and scale-up of sterile products, including ophthalmic and injectable formulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct literature searches and technical reviews to support sterile product development.
- Design and execute development trials for ophthalmic and parenteral formulations.
- Document development activities in laboratory notebooks (LNB) accurately.
- Perform in-process analysis of formulation development samples.
- Manage technology transfer and coordinate between R&D, production, and QA.
- Prepare Bill of Materials, Master Formula Records (MFR), and Product Development Reports (PDR).
- Compile and interpret product development data for internal and regulatory review.
- Prepare and update SOPs related to F&D processes.
- Ensure compliance with GMP and GLP principles in all lab operations.
- Maintain equipment IQ/OQ/PQ documentation for validation and calibration.
- Supervise laboratory cleanliness, material inventory, and compliance documentation.

Eligibility / Qualifications
Education: M.Pharm (Pharmaceutics)
Experience: 2–4 years in sterile formulation development, preferably in ophthalmic or injectable products.
Required Skills:
- Hands-on experience in sterile dosage formulation.
- Understanding of product scale-up and technology transfer.
- Strong knowledge of GMP documentation, PDR preparation, and analytical interpretation.
- Proficiency in handling equipment qualification (IQ, OQ, PQ).
- Good communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
Preferred Courses: M.Pharm (Pharmaceutics), B.Pharm, PG Diploma in Pharmaceutical Formulation, M.Sc (Pharmaceutical Sciences).
