Job Role & Responsibilities

Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager – R&D (mRNA Formulations)

The selected candidate will be responsible for the development of advanced mRNA-based formulations intended for vaccine and therapeutic applications. This role requires deep technical expertise, independent problem-solving ability, and strong collaboration across cross-functional teams. Key responsibilities include:

• Extensive literature and patent mining to identify and evaluate formulation strategies for gene delivery
• Design and validation of analytical and formulation screening tools for mRNA vaccines and therapeutics
• Independent design and execution of DOE studies based on QbD principles
• Conducting pre-formulation and formulation development studies for nanoparticulate systems
• Handling and interpretation of complex datasets for informed decision-making
• Planning and execution of formulation PDR studies and scale-up activities
• Preparation of GMP-compliant formulation and technology transfer documentation
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory documentation practices
• Supporting regulatory submissions and responses
• Managing laboratory inventory, consumables, and routine lab operations

This role plays a strategic part in translating early-stage mRNA research into scalable, GMP-ready pharmaceutical products.

Eligibility / Qualifications

Educational Qualifications:

PhD (Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, or related disciplines) with 1–3 years of relevant experience
OR
M.Pharm (Pharmaceutics / Pharmaceutical Technology) with 3–8 years of relevant experience

Professional Experience:

• Hands-on experience with nanoparticulate formulations (lipid, polymer, peptide-based systems)
• Experience in sterile injectable and lyophilized product development
• Exposure to mRNA platforms for vaccines, immuno-oncology, or CGT applications
• Working knowledge of GMP environments and regulatory expectations

Desired Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of complex aseptic handling and lyophilization processes
• Practical experience with TFF operations and troubleshooting
• Hands-on exposure to analytical tools such as DLS, HPLC, and ÄKTA FPLC
• Strong data analysis, interpretation, and presentation skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of CGMP, ICH, WHO, FDA, and EMEA guidelines
