Job Role & Responsibilities
As a QC Packing Material Officer, you will ensure that packaging components meet defined specifications and that all testing and documentation adhere to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming packing materials (labels, cartons, blister foils, closures) and perform physical and chemical checks as per SOPs.
- Execute routine QC tests: dimensional checks, print verification, ink and coating assessments, and basic chemical compatibility where applicable.
- Maintain and update packing material records, sample logs, and inspection reports.
- Coordinate with the procurement and production teams for material disposition (release, quarantine, or rejection).
- Support stability sample management and follow-up for packaging integrity studies.
- Assist in investigations related to packing material non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with cGMP, quality guidelines, and internal SOPs.
- Participate in internal audits and support external regulatory inspections when required.
Eligibility / Qualifications
Education
- B.Pharm or M.Pharm (essential)
Experience
- 1–2 years experience in Quality Control, preferably with exposure to packing material testing in a pharmaceutical environment.
Technical Skills
- Familiarity with QC laboratory practices and cGMP.
- Basic knowledge of packaging material types and properties (paperboard, laminates, aluminum foils, polymer films).
- Proficiency in documentation, sample handling, and use of QC instruments (calipers, spectrophotometer, moisture analyzers is a plus).
Soft Skills
- Attention to detail and methodical approach to testing.
- Good communication and teamwork.
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to handle deviation investigations.
