Job Role & Responsibilities
As a Medical Coder – Surgery (IVR, GI & Ortho), your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing medical records with precision and accuracy.
- Assigning correct ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for diagnoses and procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with medical necessity guidelines.
- Applying APC (Ambulatory Payment Classification) for accurate chart processing.
- Collaborating with healthcare teams to maintain coding quality and compliance.
Eligibility / Qualifications
To be eligible for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Graduate in Life Sciences (B.Sc, M.Sc, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Zoology, Botany, Nursing, or equivalent).
- Certification: Valid AAPC certification (mandatory).
- Experience: Experienced coders are preferred. Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and APC coding.
Relevant courses include: B.Sc Life Sciences, M.Sc Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Zoology, Botany, Nursing.
