Job Role & Responsibilities
As a Medical Coder – Gastro Surgery, your role will involve:
- Assigning accurate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for gastroenterology and surgical procedures.
- Reviewing patient medical records for completeness and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Ensuring error-free coding to maximize reimbursement and reduce claim denials.
- Collaborating with clinical teams to clarify documentation.
- Adhering to HIPAA compliance and maintaining patient data confidentiality.
Eligibility / Qualifications
To be eligible for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Certification (Mandatory): CPC, CCS, COC, or CRC.
- Education Background: Any Life Science graduate such as BPT, MPT, B.Pharm, M.Pharm, B.Sc, M.Sc, Nursing, Nutrition, Zoology, Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in gastro surgery coding.
