Job Role & Responsibilities
Scientist / Sr. Scientist – API R&D (Analytical & Bioanalytical Chemistry)
- Location: Kolkata
- Experience Required: 3–8 years
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and validate robust analytical methods using HPLC, GC, LC-MS, UV, FTIR for API quantification, purity, stability, and impurity profiling.
- Conduct method development for complex small molecules and perform structural characterization using advanced techniques including LC-MS/MS, NMR, and ICP-MS.
- Support API process development through analytical testing, characterization, and identification of intermediates and impurities.
- Design and execute bioanalytical studies (plasma/serum analysis) to support pharmacokinetics, toxicokinetics, and bioavailability studies.
- Perform forced degradation studies and establish stability-indicating methods.
- Prepare, review, and maintain technical documentation such as method development reports, validation protocols, and regulatory submission documents.
- Collaborate with formulation, QC, regulatory, and manufacturing teams for successful tech transfer and compliance.
- Stay updated with ICH, FDA, EMA guidelines and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements for method validation and data integrity.
- Maintain GLP/GMP documentation and laboratory best practices.
Eligibility / Qualifications
- Educational Qualification: M.Sc., M.Pharm, or Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, or related disciplines.
- Experience: 3–8 years in pharmaceutical R&D or CRO environment.
- Technical Skills: Hands-on expertise in HPLC, GC, LC-MS/MS, UV-Vis, FTIR, NMR, and other analytical instrumentation.
- Preferred Skills: Knowledge of regulatory guidelines, method validation, bioanalytical assay development, and data integrity standards.
- Relevant Courses: Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Drug Development, Pharmacokinetics, Regulatory Affairs, Bioanalytical Methods, Quality Assurance, Clinical Research.
